2025 Toyota Sequoia Comparison Highlights

Toyota's legendary full-size SUV, Sequoia, is all-new for the 2023 model year, and it builds upon the heritage, performance, and versatility of a tried-and-true three-row formula. Its new visual styling and commanding presence live up to the reputation built by previous-generation Sequoias, and it's backed by a robust twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain that produces 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

This thoughtfully engineered and technically advanced propulsion system utilizes a unique motor generator between the engine and 10-speed automatic transmission to maximize both performance and efficiency. The result is an EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 21 mpg city / 24 mpg highway - a huge improvement over previous models.

This new power has additional benefits too for those who have towing needs. The all-new Sequoia now offers up to 9,520 pounds of towing capacity, an impressive increase of 26 percent over last year's model. And to lessen the stresses of towing, the available Tow Tech Package provides a suite of assistance features like Trailer Backup Guide and Straight Path Assist.

Also part of the Sequoia's complete redesign is a modern body-on-frame chassis that's paired with a specially-tuned independent front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, and a new rack-mounted electronic power steering system for improved feedback from the vehicle. These components plus advanced weight-saving manufacturing techniques help the Sequoia achieve a more stable and more comfortable on- and off-road presence that also reduces energy losses as power makes its way to the tires.

On the inside, a range of configurations allow you to fully utilize the spacious cabin and adapt for passengers or cargo. The second row can be fitted with captain's chairs or a bench, both of which recline and tumble forward, while the third row features reclining seats with available power folding. But the most noteworthy new feature is the exclusive Sliding Third Row with Adjustable Cargo Shelf System. Offering six inches of movement range, this segment-first feature adds an extra layer of versatility for your storage and cargo needs.

For the driver, the all-new Drive Mode Select delivers more performance customization, automatically adjusting aspects of the Sequoia like the available Adaptive Variable Suspension, the electric motor's responsiveness, and the gear shifting strategy, to name a few. And complementing these tailored on-road dynamics is the standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5. This suite of advanced driver-assistive and awareness technologies includes features like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and lane tracing assist.
